A man is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle became stuck in a ditch Thursday in Oro-Medonte.
Shortly before 9 p.m., Orillia OPP responded to the scene on Line 3 North. Police were told the driver seemed intoxicated and was trying to free the vehicle from being stuck, according to an OPP news release.
Gerhard Betcher, 33, of Georgian Bay Township, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol) and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
The accused has a February court date in Orillia. His driver’s licence is being suspended for 90 days and the vehicle is being impounded for seven days.
