Vehicle stuck on Highway 11 median; two face multiple charges

Duo charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, careless storage of a firearm and other offences, say OPP

On Tuesday Jan. 17, 2023 at 11:30 p.m. Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle stuck in the centre median on Highway 11 in Bracebridge. Officers arrived and soon entered into a criminal investigation.

Police have charged 39-year-old Daniel Roberts of Fenelon Falls with the following:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer CC 129(a)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession of break-in instruments CC 351(1)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime CC 354(1)(a) X 2
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition CC 92(2)
  • Careless storage of a firearm CC 86(1)

Also charged is 34-year-old Amanda Corby of Highland Grove, ON with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking CDSA 5(2)
  • Fail to comply with probation order CC 733.1(1) X 4
  • Possession of break-in instruments CC 351(1)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime CC 354(1)(a)
  • Careless storage of a firearm CC 86(1)
  • Possession of a forged document CC 368(1)(d)
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order CC 117.01(1)

They are both scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Feb. 28, 2023 to answer to their charges.
