One person is facing impaired driving charges after a crash in Tiny Township over the weekend.
Ontario Provincial Police say a vehicle crashed into a tree on Awenda Park Road Saturday afternoon.
The investigating officer found a demolished Jeep alongside a 40 km/h stretch of the road, and after speaking with the nearby driver, entered into a drinking and driving investigation.
Charles McKie, 39, was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries, then criminally charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
In addition, the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for a week.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20.
