Blackburn’s Auto Electric Service Station was located at the southeast corner of Colborne and West Streets.

From the early 1930s until the late 1940s, Fred Blackburn operated this service station and sold Imperial Esso gas and electrical supplies and did radiator and general car repairs.

He also had the building across the corner from here on the northwest side of Colborne and West streets, where he specialized in electrical repairs.

In the lot next door at 35-39 West St. S., he sold Dodge and Desoto cars. Over the front door is a Willard Storage Battery sign.

It is interesting to note that the ladies' restroom entrance is in the store while the men's sign is at the garage entrance.

By 1950, Payne and Tennant had taken over the Dodge and Desoto franchise at this location.
