Postcard Memories is a weekly series of historic postcard views and photos submitted by Marcel Rousseau.

Some were previously published by the Orillia Museum of Art and History and in the book Postcard Memories Orillia.

Beers Dairy opened in 1939 at 92 Colborne St. E. and was owned by Jonas F. Beers.

Andrew Beers worked as a delivery driver of horses, Percy Beers was route manager, Audrey Beers worked in the office and Kenneth Beers worked in the plant and later became salesman.

The dairy business was sold in 1950 to Clayton Baker who became owner/operator and the business was re-named "The Beers Dairy Ltd."

Don Beckett became plant manager in 1953 and Bruce Forgie became delivery manager in 1954.

In May 1956 Clayton Baker retired and Beers was sold to the Borden Co. Ltd. Bruce Forgie continued as supervisor of the delivery department.

Ernie Hillen, who was manager of Borden’s Ice Cream department in Orillia, became branch manager of both the fluid Milk and Ice Cream Department in the new facility.

Borden’s continued to operate at 92 Colborne St. E. until closing in 1981.
