Leonard Hayhurst was the driver for Plowman’s Laundry and is shown here with the company's 1935 Ford delivery truck in front of his home at 75 Mississaga St. W. The building behind Leonard at 74 Mississaga St. W. is no longer standing but was a restaurant owned by Mrs. Elizabeth Gethons when this photo was taken.

Plowman’s using the slogan “Launderers and Dry Cleaners to Particular People” and offered a pickup and delivery service. They used Wagg’s Laundry for all its laundering and cleaning.

Wagg’s Laundry was located at the corner of Victoria and Dufferin streets and took over the Plowman business in the early 1940s. Leonard Hayhurst continued as a driver for Wagg’s after the takeover.
