As the holidays approach and people search for the perfect gift to give, meal to make and decorations to warm their house, many vulnerable families struggle to recover from rising inflation and the lasting effects of the pandemic.

However, the Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions Holiday Program is helping those in need and encourages community members to help spread joy with several gift-giving options.

The program helps close to 3,000 individuals every year, and this year is no exception.

A financial donation of just $25 can provide a meal for a child, youth or caregiver, and contributions can help fulfill sponsorships that provide needed items. The program also allows sponsoring a child, youth or family and preparing a holiday hamper.

Hygiene items, gift cards for groceries and gas, baby items, colouring books, art supplies, tech gadgets and more are in demand, and people can help by purchasing or collecting these for vulnerable families.

Toys and gift cards can also be donated through the CTV Toy Mountain or County of Simcoe Paramedics, or a financial donation can be made to support the purchase of these gifts.

More information about how you can help out can be found on the Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions website.
