The Rotary Club of Orillia is gearing up for an exciting milestone with its first-ever Orillia Car Lottery. The unique fundraising initiative promises the thrill of winning a vehicle and the satisfaction of supporting seven local charities.

As the grand prize draw approaches on Saturday, October 7th, at Thor Motors in Orillia, anticipation is building for the chance to win a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport valued at $54,465.

"The all-wheel-drive Bronco Sport SUV combines superb off-road and all-weather capability with advanced comfort and high-tech features that also make city and highway driving a joy," explained Orillia Rotary Club member Jack Nolan, adding that one of the unique aspects of the lottery is the winner can select from 11 different colour choices or there is a take-the-cash option.

Nolan explained this is the largest fundraising initiative to date for the Orillia Rotary Club.

"Buying a ticket in Rotary's Orillia Car Lottery gives someone a chance to win the cool Ford Bronco Sport, and they also win by helping to make a difference in the community," Nolan said.

Rotary has been supporting community needs and projects in Orillia and the surrounding area for several decades, and the club has set a goal of selling 8,500 tickets, but in the final days before the draw approach, they hope to maximize the support for all their partner charities.

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local charities, each of which plays a vital role in Orillia and the surrounding areas, including the OSMH Foundation - Orillia & Area Physician Recruitment, The Sharing Place Food Centre, Mariposa House Hospice, The Lighthouse, Independent Living Services of Simcoe County, Green Haven Shelter for Women and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Tickets are one for $20, three for $50, and seven for $100, and can be purchased online or in person on October 7th starting at 11 a.m.
