Charges laid after police stop break and enter in progress

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two males who were caught in the act of breaking into an Orillia residence.

On Jan. 22, shortly before 10:00 p.m., police received an urgent call from an Orillia resident who believed that two males were trying to break into their Isabella Drive residence. Officers responded rapidly and arrived at the scene to find two males inside the garage. The suspects were arrested and further investigation led to the seizure of a small quantity of fentanyl. 

As a result, John Hillock, age 37, of Orillia, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - Opioid
  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

In addition, William Waller, age 36, of Orillia has been charged with:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

Both accused parties were released on Form 10 Undertakings and are set to appear on April 6, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
