Former Midland Police Service officer named as region OPP shift supervisor

MIDLAND, ON - I am pleased to announce to the communities of North Simcoe the results of a recent competition for the position of shift supervisor at the Highway 12 location of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The successful candidate is newly promoted Sergeant Michael Burrows who comes to us from the Orillia OPP detachment.

Sergeant Burrows brings to his new role 21 years of municipal policing experience which includes eight years with Metro Toronto Police Service and 13 years with the former Midland Police Service. Michael joined the OPP in 2010 and was assigned to the Orillia detachment as a detective constable.

As Sgt. Burrows states "I am excited to have returned home to work at the Southern Georgian Bay OPP."

I welcome Sergeant Burrows to his new rank and position which he accepted on Dec. 31, 2018 and look forward to him being an active member serving the North Simcoe communities in a front line supervisory role.
