On Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were alerted to a vehicle theft in progress from a Mount Stephen Road, Severn Township address. At approximately 2:30 p.m., the owner of the vehicle saw it drive from his property and called police.

The vehicle is a 2016 silver Jeep Wrangler Limited Edition 4x4 with Ontario licence BYTX499. Police searched the area extensively and were unable to locate the vehicle. It was then learned that the suspect had abandoned another vehicle on the victim's property which had been reported stolen from the West Parry Sound area that morning.

If anyone sees this vehicle they are advised to call 911 immediately and not approach the suspect. If anyone has any information on the circumstances surrounding this theft they are encouraged to contact the Orillia OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 705-326-3536.
