Local resident nabbed for stunt driving: OPP

A vehicle being driven at nearly twice the posted speed limit in Springwater has resulted in charges against a Barrie resident.

A Huronia West OPP officer pulled the vehicle over Monday after it was clocked going 99 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, according to a news release.

The 24-year-old driver was charged with performing a stunt (excessive speed) and speeding (49 km/h over posted limit). The driver’s licence will be suspended for 30 days and the vehicle will be impounded for 14 days.
