Mask-wearing bandit robs Collingwood sushi restaurant: OPP

Police say a man brandished a knife and made off with a cash register from the restaurant; server secured herself in a backroom

Local police are looking for a male suspect after a robbery at a Collingwood restaurant last night. 

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a robbery they were called to at 8:30 p.m. on March 7 at Kicho Sushi on First Street. 

According to police, one of the servers noted a man came into the restaurant wearing a ski mask, then pulled out a knife and demanded the cash register be opened. 

"The server was able to secure herself safely in a backroom at which time police were called," states an OPP news release. "The suspect took the cash register and left in an unknown direction."

Police say the suspect was described as a white man with a skinny build, approximately 6 feet tall and believed to be 35 to 40 years of age and wearing dark coloured pants and a dark jacket at the time.
