Midland man charged with attempted murder in Wasaga Beach shooting

Police don't believe the accused acted alone and are looking to identify at least one other involved male

WASAGA BEACH - Members of the Huronia West OPP Crime Unit have laid charges in an attempted murder case from Feb. 10, 2019.

On Feb. 10, 2019 police responded to a shooting on Wesley Avenue in Wasaga Beach. At the time, a male victim was transported to hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. 

The victim was treated and released for serious but non-life threating injuries. Investigators identified a white pick-up truck vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting and appealed to the public for assistance. Subsequently, the vehicle was identified.     

Charged with "Attempt to Commit Murder" is Darren Ellery 26-year-old male from Midland, Ont.

The accused was brought before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie and held for a bail.

Police don't believe the accused acted alone and are looking to identify at least one other involved male.
