OPP nab impaired snowmobiler during routine trail patrol

The 45-year-old's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the snowmobile has been impounded for seven days, police say

BRACEBRIDGE - On Feb. 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police Snowmobile, All Terrain Vehicle and Vessel Enforcement Team (S.A.V.E) and The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry were conducting patrol on the Ontario Federation Snowmobile Clubs Trail D near Trail 36.

As a result 45-year-old Bale Dimovski of Zephyr, Ont. was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1) (a) and Over80 CC 320.14(1) (b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 4, 2021 to answer to his charges.

Officers will continue to patrol our roadways and trails and those drivers found impaired by alcohol or drugs will have a date in criminal court, have their driver's license suspended immediately for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Police are reminding operators to exercise caution while enjoying their recreational vehicles including wearing proper safety equipment, being aware of their surroundings and knowing their own limitations and abilities. Be responsible and make good decisions, and help others make good decisions too!
