OPP seek witnesses in armed robbery

SEVERN TOWNSHIP - On June 3, 2018 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call of a robbery at a Washago business in the Township of Severn.

The ongoing investigation has determined that on June 3, 2018, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a lone male entered the business wearing a bandana that covered the lower portion of his face and approached the cashier while brandishing a knife.

A demand was made for the cash register to be opened; however, the robbery was interrupted by a customer entering the store. The male fled in a dark coloured two-door sedan, westbound on Muskoka Street. No one was hurt during this incident.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian male.
  • 6 ft. tall with muscular build and broad shoulders.
  • Short dark curly hair.
  • Black shirt with a picture on it.
  • Wearing dark clothing.
  • Tattoos on both arms.
