Man charged with armed robbery of Orillia pharmacy

Following a thorough investigation, police identified the 55-year-old suspect and charged him with robbery using a firearm in relation to 2021 incident

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a suspect in relation to a robbery of a pharmacy in the City of Orillia in 2021.

On Oct. 18, 2021, shortly before 7:45 p.m., a lone male walked into an Orillia pharmacy and proceeded to the pharmacy staff area, brandishing a handgun and demanding access to the safe. The suspect then fled with several prescription medications.

The Orillia Detachment Crime Unit took charge of the investigation, assisted by OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Centre for Forensic Sciences (CFS). 

On May 26, 2022, following a thorough investigation, police were able to identify a suspect.

As a result, police have charged Robert Cadeau, 55, of West Nipissing, On., with the following:

  • Robbery using a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm

The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear on July 12 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
