HUNTSVILLE - On Feb. 2, 2019 at approximately 11:27 p.m., Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police detachment members were called to investigate a motor vehicle collision that involved two cars.
The collision occurred in the area of 2158 Brunel Road, Huntsville. Upon police arrival, both drivers of the cars involved had fled the scene. Police did locate the two males a short time later.
As a result of the investigation to date, Justin Kirou-Griffiths, a 19-year-old male from Huntsville was arrested and charged with the following;
- Fail to stop after accident
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Mark Griffiths, a 20-year-old male from Orillia was arrested and charged with the following;
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
- Operation of a motor vehicle with blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
- Fail to stop after accident
- Fail to notify change of address, Highway Traffic Act section 9 (21).
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act section 2 (1) (a)
- Novice driver with blood alcohol concentration above 0, Highway Traffic Act 44.1(3)
Both males are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville on Wednesday March 6, 2019 to answer the charges.
