Police seek more info on crash that killed pedestrian

Kawartha Lakes OPP would like to speak with the driver of a vehicle that picked up the man prior to fatal crash

On Oct. 5, 2019, members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a serious collision on Kawartha Lakes Road 121 shortly before 8:30 p.m.

 A vehicle driving northbound on Kawartha Lakes Road 121, near Fenelon Falls, struck a pedestrian on the roadway. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and called for assistance. The 41-year-old pedestrian died at the scene of the collision.

Kawartha Lakes Road 121 remained closed for several hours while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

Investigation has indicated that, earlier in the evening, the deceased had been picked up in a vehicle from a residence. Police would like to speak with the driver of the vehicle and would ask that anyone with information related to this incident call the detachment at 705-324-6741.
