Public help sought in suspicious death investigation in Orillia

Police closed a section of Andrew Street South in Orillia while investigating a suspicious death.

Police are continuing to investigate a suspicious death at a home locally and are asking for the help of the public.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday night, Orillia OPP responded to the scene, a residence on Andrew Street South, and found a person dead.

A postmortem examination to determine the cause of death has been scheduled at the Centre of Forensic Sciences (CFS) in Toronto, on Dec. 17, 2023.

The Orillia OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with help from the OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS).
