Severn woman charged with impaired after vehicle ditched in Ramara

The 27-year-old driver was uninjured in the 3 a.m. crash

RAMARA - Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a female with impaired driving after a vehicle was found in the ditch in the Township of Ramara.

On Nov. 19, 2020 shortly after 3 a.m., police received a call reporting that there was a vehicle in the ditch on Concession Road 12 at Sideroad 25, Ramara. 

Officers arrived and, after speaking with the driver, an impaired driving investigation was commenced. The female driver, who was uninjured in the collision, was subsequently arrested.

As a result, Cora Lindsay, age 27 of Severn, has been charged with:
    •    Operation while impaired - alcohol, contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
    •    Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on January 19, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
