Two charged in relation to February theft investigation

MIDLAND - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Community Street Crime Unit have arrested and charged two males in connection to a robbery at a Midland home that occurred on Feb. 6, 2018.

On March 19, 2018 investigators located and charged Taylor Alarie, 32 years old of New Tecumseth, with the following offences:

  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

He was released from police custody on his own recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.

Recently on April 10, 2018 officers located in the Town of Midland the second suspect and arrested Wallace Luscombe, 39 years old of Midland, and also charged him with the following offences in relation to the Feb. 6, 2018 incident:

  • Robbery with weapon contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada

He was held for bail court before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
