Woman surrenders to police after being accused of throwing hot coffee in store clerk's face

Police say the suspect fled the Bayfield Street Circle K location heading towards the downtown area

A 30-year old female surrendered to Barrie Police after seeing that she was wanted is now charged with assault, mischief and theft under $5000. A big thank you to the public and the media for your combined assistance in sharing this information.

The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after an assault and a theft was reported in the City of Barrie.

On Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 at 1:19 p.m., Barrie Police were called in regards to an assault that had just occurred at the Circle K located at 151 Bayfield St. The store employee just had hot coffee thrown in his face by an unknown female suspect.

The female left on foot and was last seen walking towards the downtown area. Police attended the Circle K to learn that the same female had also been in the store on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 and had [allegedly] left the store without paying for a coffee. 

Police are trying to identify the suspect in both of these occurrences who is described as female, believed to be in her 30s, medium build, approximately 5'6", dark hair, wearing blue jeans, a maroon jacket, winter boots carrying a green reusable shopping bag and a grey and white purse.
