Youth injured in East Street collision

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision between a car and a pedestrian, in the City of Orillia.

On Oct. 19, 2018 shortly before 8 p.m., the Orillia OPP and Orillia Fire Department were contacted in relation to a motor vehicle collision on East Street West near James Street. When officers arrived at the scene they located a female party who had been hit by a vehicle on East Street. The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.

Investigation revealed a 12-year-old female from Orillia sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was transported by Simcoe County Paramedic Service to an Orillia area hospital. The vehicle involved is described as a dark coloured 2010-2012 Nissan Altima with a damaged passenger headlight.

The Orillia OPP is requesting the assistance of the public to help identify the driver of the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Orillia OPP at 705-326-3536 or through the Provincial Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
