There is an awful lot that is not known about this incident and to arbitrarily put this on the parents without knowing the details is presumptuous and quite possibly unwarranted. The parents are likely devastated over this as it is without being publicly blamed when they may not be responsible and if they are in some way responsible it will likely be even more devastating for them and a lifetime burden. Comments could possibly be made in this context at least for now.

It's unfortunate the OPP don't have the resources that would permit more extensive enforcement on several of our waterways. Many boaters / cottagers travel about on their lakes with little concern that they'll be checked.
