A collision has shut down Highway 11 North at County Road 169 in Severn.

Two people have been injured in a "serious" three-vehicle crash that has shut down Highway 11 north.

Orillia OPP Const. Brett Boniface says a motorcycle was involved in the crash on Highway 11 near Coopers Falls Road.

Police stated in a news release the collision involved a motorcycle, a minivan, and a pickup truck that was towing a trailer.

The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver was later airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre.

No other injuries were reported.

The north-bound lanes of the busy highway are closed at County Road 169 due to the investigation. They are expected to remain closed for several hours, and drivers in the area are urged to use caution.
