Motorcyclist flown to Toronto hospital with serious injuries

Members of the Nottawasaga detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a two-vehicle collision on Highway 89 at 5 Sideroad in Innisfil.

On June 3, at approximately 2:42 p.m., police received a call regarding a serious collision involving a passenger motor vehicle and a motorcycle.

Both vehicles were travelling westbound on Highway 89 with the collision occurring at the intersection.

The motorcycle driver was transported to a local hospital via land ambulance and later transported to a Toronto-area trauma hospital via Ornge. The motorcycle driver has sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time, as the collision is still under investigation. The road was temporarily closed, but has since been reopened.

Police are looking to speak with any witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the accident.
