OPP, Metro teaming up for food drive Saturday

On Saturday Aug. 18, 2018 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police along with the Auxiliary Unit will be partnering with Metro Foods Grocery store and hosting a food drive.

The food drive will take place at the Metro grocery store located at 70 Front Street North in Orillia. The OPP and Metro are requesting donations of non-perishable items or canned goods. There will be non-perishable items pre-packaged available for purchase at Metro. 

The food drive is in response to recent media coverage on how depleted the local food bank is. If you are unable to attend the food drive and donate please feel free to drop off donations to The Sharing Place food bank located at 22 West Street South in Orillia or visit their website.
