Traffic complaint leads to impaired charges for Ramara man

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a Ramara man with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in the City of Orillia.

On June 12, 2022, shortly after 3 a.m., officers on patrol stopped a vehicle following a driving complaint. Upon speaking with the driver an impaired driving investigation was initiated.  The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further investigation.

As a result, Jonathon May, age 21, of Ramara, Ont., has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear on June 28, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia. His vehicle was impounded for seven days and he was issued an Administrative Drivers Licence suspension for 90 days.
