Victim robbed at knife point in Stayner

An unknown suspect held a knife to the victim and demanded they hand over money that had been withdrawn from a nearby ATM

On Feb. 28, 2020 at 6:29 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huronia West Detachment responded to a robbery incident near the intersection of John Street and Perry Street.

An unknown suspect held a knife to the victim and demanded they hand over money that had been withdrawn from a nearby ATM. It was reported the suspect then fled south down Perry Street.

Police are looking for the assistance of the public to help identify the suspect, who is described as:   

  • Male
  • Nose piercing on the right nostril with white or clear-coloured stud
  • Scar on the left hand between thumb and index finger
  • Limp on the right side
  • Wearing a balaclava at the time of the incident

Police believe there may be witnesses to this event who were driving or walking in the area at the time of the offence. If anyone recognizes the suspect or has knowledge of this crime, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
