Woman charged with assaulting youth, throwing bike into lake

Police say the victim hid until the adult left and suffered minor injuries in the incident that happened Sunday at a park north of Orillia

On Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a complaint about a youth that had been assaulted by an adult at Ungerman Park in Gravenhurst and furthermore the adult threw his bicycle into the lake.

The victim then hid until the adult left. He suffered minor injuries and the bicycle has not been recovered.

Police conducted an investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 32-year-old Brittany Tomasetti-Lahay of Gravenhurst with assault CC 266 and mischief under $5,000.

She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 28, 2022, to answer to her charges.
